Location: Remote (United States)
Job Type: Full Time
Job Requisition ID: JR6336
Pay Range: $25.19 – $44.31 per hour
If you’re an early-career web developer who enjoys improving existing websites, cleaning up messy structures, and building toward something more scalable, this role offers a strong growth path.
A company is currently hiring a Junior Web Developer to support both the maintenance of existing web properties and the development of a new unified web platform. This is a hands-on remote opportunity for someone who is comfortable working across content structure, technical cleanup, frontend quality, and platform support—while learning directly alongside a Senior Web Developer.
This role is especially well suited to someone who enjoys working on real-world websites that need both stability today and stronger architecture for tomorrow.
About the Role
As a Junior Web Developer, you will help maintain, improve, and prepare a portfolio of company and partner websites for future platform consolidation.
You’ll work closely with the Senior Web Developer to ensure current sites remain stable, well-organised, and performance-focused, while also contributing to the transition toward a more scalable and unified web ecosystem.
This is not just a content-editing role. It blends website maintenance, HTML cleanup, data organisation, technical SEO awareness, debugging, and light development support across multiple brands and partner practices.
Key Performance Areas
KPA 1: Website Maintenance & Content Structure
A major part of your role will involve improving the quality and consistency of existing web properties.
You will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and updating existing company and partner websites
- Cleaning, standardising, and improving semantic HTML across blog pages and content-heavy sections
- Ensuring strong consistency in markup quality, page structure, and content presentation
- Implementing URL updates, redirects, and other structural improvements
- Assisting with the preparation of legacy content for migration into a future unified platform
This area is ideal for someone who notices structural issues quickly and enjoys making websites cleaner and more maintainable.
KPA 2: Data Organization & Platform Support
You will also support the behind-the-scenes work that helps power a scalable publishing environment.
Your responsibilities here will include:
- Assisting with the extraction, organisation, and structuring of data from websites and databases
- Supporting backend-related content tasks and reporting workflows
- Helping prepare and normalise data for unified platform publishing
- Contributing to scalable content models and structured data approaches that improve long-term maintainability
This part of the role is particularly valuable for developers who want exposure to content systems, data modelling, and platform thinking beyond pure frontend work.
KPA 3: Development & Technical Quality
You’ll be expected to contribute directly to technical quality across the company’s web properties.
This includes:
- Troubleshooting and debugging both frontend and backend issues
- Applying best practices related to:
- Performance
- Accessibility
- SEO
- Security
- Assisting with integrations involving third-party APIs and external services
- Reading, understanding, and improving existing codebases rather than always building from scratch
This makes the role a strong fit for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving and isn’t intimidated by inherited code.
KPA 4: Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Although remote, this role requires strong communication and personal ownership.
You will:
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Web Developer on platform enhancements and site improvements
- Clearly communicate progress, blockers, and updates in a remote team environment
- Manage assigned tasks independently and deliver on agreed timelines
- Continuously build your technical skills in line with platform and business needs
- Contribute ideas that improve publishing workflows, content operations, and site performance
This is a strong opportunity for a developer who wants mentorship while still being trusted with meaningful ownership.
