About the Job
Docker is looking for a Data Scientist to join its Data Insights team as a key individual contributor. This is a hands-on role centered on extracting business and product value from data through advanced analytics, experimentation, statistical modeling, and executive-ready storytelling.
The person in this role will work closely with Product Managers, Executive Leaders, and Engineering teams to:
- Define and refine product metrics
- Measure product health
- Evaluate experiments
- Surface strategic business insights
- Support feature development with data-backed recommendations
This is not just a dashboarding role. Docker is specifically seeking someone who can independently tackle complex analytical problems, build rigorous frameworks, and translate technical findings into decisions that matter.
What You’ll Be Doing
1) Product Analytics & Experimentation
You will:
- Analyze detailed Docker product usage data to understand user behavior patterns and product engagement.
- Translate open-ended product and business questions into structured analytical plans.
- Build and refine robust product metrics that help teams track usage, adoption, and overall health.
- Design, run, and interpret A/B tests and other product experiments from start to finish.
- Clearly explain experiment results, business implications, and recommended next steps to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain KPIs and operational metrics for product features and broader business performance.
2) Strategic Insights & Executive Reporting
You will also:
- Provide actionable insights to Product Managers around:
- User engagement
- Feature adoption
- Growth opportunities
- Product roadmap priorities
- Build deep-dive reports for executive leadership on:
- Major business trends
- Strategic initiative performance
- Product and revenue signals

3) Technical Execution & Modeling
