Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support AI research projects by configuring and maintaining development environments. This role is contract-based, remote, and requires independent, asynchronous work to meet project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and optimize development environments for open-source projects written in Java
- Troubleshoot and resolve dependency conflicts across multiple codebases
- Ensure tests pass consistently in varying environments
- Collaborate with AI research teams to enhance environment setup and performance
- Work independently to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience with Java development
- Proven ability to set up and manage development environments
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive industry experience with Java-based projects
- Prior exposure to open-source collaboration and cross-team coordination
