About the Role

Snapsheet is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to help shape the technical direction and engineering excellence of its industry-leading claims engine.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to architecture decisions, conduct thorough code reviews, and ship high-quality, production-ready software. What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Help drive the technical direction of Snapsheet’s claims platform
  • Participate in architecture discussions and system design decisions
  • Perform detailed code reviews to maintain engineering quality and standards
  • Write and deliver high-quality, production-ready code
  • Collaborate across teams in a remote-first agile environment
  • Contribute across the stack, from backend systems to frontend experiences
  • Solve scalability and performance challenges
  • Mentor engineers and support technical growth across the team
  • Develop a strong understanding of the product, users, and business context
  • Dive deep into systems and tools beyond just framework-level knowledge

What Snapsheet Is Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Mathematics
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Or another related STEM field
  • 5+ years of full-stack web development experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working with relational databases
  • Exposure to front-end technologies and the ability to contribute across the stack
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex ideas
  • Demonstrated experience solving scalability challenges
  • A proactive mindset and curiosity to deeply understand systems and tools
  • Willingness to build expertise in at least one technical domain
  • A clear understanding of how engineering work connects to product and business outcomes

Compensation

Base Salary: $160,000 – $185,000/year

Final compensation depends on: Experience, Skill set, Geographic location
