About the Job

UL Solutions is hiring a Cloud Security Engineer with strong Application Security experience to join its Security Architecture Team.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud environments and secure application practices across multi-cloud platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.

You will work across:

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Security Engineering

As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will:

• Design and implement security controls for cloud infrastructure across:
  • Azure
  • AWS
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Develop and maintain secure cloud architecture patterns, including:
  • Hub-and-spoke
  • Zero Trust
• Integrate and manage cloud security tools such as:
  • Wiz
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • Silverfort
  • Terraform
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for cloud-native services
• Collaborate with:
  • IAM teams
  • SOC teams
  • GRC teams
• Ensure cloud security aligns with enterprise security policies and standards

Application Security

You will also support secure application development by:

• Performing:
  • Secure code reviews
  • Static analysis
  • Dynamic analysis
  • Vulnerability assessments
• Integrating security into CI/CD pipelines
• Working with tools such as:
  • Snyk
  • Checkmarx
  • Veracode
• Guiding development teams on:
  • Secure coding practices
  • OWASP Top 10
• Designing and implementing API security strategies, including:
  • OAuth 2.0
  • OpenID Connect
  • mTLS (mutual TLS)
• Supporting vulnerability remediation and providing technical security guidance

Compliance & Governance

In this role, you will also help support compliance and audit readiness by:

• Mapping cloud and application security controls to frameworks such as:
  • NIST 800-53
  • SOC 2
  • CIS Controls
• Assisting with:
  • Security audits
  • Evidence collection
  • Regulatory compliance activities
• Maintaining documentation for:
  • Security architecture
  • Policies
  • Procedures
  • Technical standards

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Cybersecurity
  • Or a related field
• 3–4 years of experience in:
  • Cloud security engineering
  • Application security
• Strong understanding of Azure security services and architecture
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as:
  • Terraform
  • Bicep
• Familiarity with Snowflake security features and data protection strategies
• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), including:
  • Azure AD
  • Conditional Access
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps tools and practices

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

Certifications

• Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate
• CISSP
• CCSP
• OSCP
• GIAC

Additional Preferred Experience

• Experience with multi-subscription Azure environments
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture
• Experience with security automation and orchestration

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $95,000 – $120,000/year

Final compensation depends on:
Relevant experience, Technical skill set, Geographic location, Job-related knowledge and capabilities

• Eligible for an annual bonus
• Target payout: 10% of base salary
