This role is geared toward professionals who can move comfortably between threat detection, vulnerability management, network defense, security tooling, and governance support. It is a hands-on opportunity for someone who can both identify risk and actively engineer the controls required to reduce it.
For candidates with solid experience in corporate security environments, particularly those involving threat hunting, Palo Alto firewall administration, and enterprise security operations, this position offers a broad and practical scope.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Engineer, your responsibilities will span prevention, detection, response, and strategic security hardening.
Core Duties
You will be expected to:
- Monitor and defend systems against:
- Unauthorized access
- Improper modification
- Data destruction or compromise
- Identify suspicious activity, malicious indicators, and emerging threat patterns
- Detect and highlight vulnerabilities across:
- Networks
- Applications
- Programs
- Systems
- Resolve identified security issues and help prevent future breaches
- Design security controls and protective mechanisms to counter evolving threats
- Design, build, implement, and support security systems across the environment
- Monitor network traffic for abnormal or unauthorized behavior
- Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts generated by security systems
- Track external cybersecurity intelligence sources for new and emerging threats
- Define and establish security requirements for:
- Networks
- Hardware
- Related infrastructure
- Conduct monthly security audits
- Make policy recommendations based on audit findings and security risk posture
- Perform:
- Vulnerability assessments
- Network scanning
- Security validation activities
- Configure and support security technologies such as:
- Palo Alto firewalls
- Anti-virus platforms
- Patch management systems
- Other defensive tooling
- Help maintain and contribute to:
- Business continuity plans
- Disaster recovery protocols
- Provide practical security guidance and technical recommendations based on prior experience
- Implement and reinforce:
- Network security policies
- Application security controls
- Access management safeguards
- Corporate data protection standards
- Generate monthly security reports and cybersecurity metrics dashboards
- Support the organization’s preparation for security certifications
Required Qualifications

Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Cyber Security Engineer
- At least 3 years of threat hunting experience in a corporate environment with a global footprint
Technical Requirements
You should have demonstrable experience in:
- Installation and configuration of Palo Alto firewalls
- Setting up and configuring:
- Wireless access points
- VPNs
- Endpoint security solutions
- Desktop operating systems
- Security monitoring, investigation, and defensive operations
- Vulnerability and network scanning practices
- Security infrastructure support and hardening
Governance & Risk
- Proven exposure to IT governance
- Practical understanding of risk management frameworks and security controls
