Full Stack Engineer (Remote) — Nigeria, Kenya & South Africa

A rapidly ascending telehealth venture is on the hunt for a Full Stack Engineer to join its expanding team. This is a permanent, full-time remote position open to professionals based in Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, offering a compelling annual compensation package of USD 100,000 – 145,000.

Job Code: 7E1CYR1XXZ

This role is tailored for an engineer who wants more than routine ticket execution. The successful candidate will help architect and evolve a contemporary healthcare marketplace designed to make medical access clearer, faster, and less opaque for patients. You’ll contribute across the full product surface while working shoulder-to-shoulder with clinical and operations teams to decode real-world care workflows and connect with intricate healthcare systems such as EHRs, insurance platforms, and laboratory providers.

In short, this is not a passive coding seat. It is a high-trust, high-agency position inside a fast-paced startup where engineers are expected to think commercially, solve structurally, and ship decisively.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As the Full Stack Engineer, your remit will stretch well beyond interface tweaks or backend maintenance. You’ll be entrusted with building practical systems that influence how patients discover, book, and pay for care.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain end-to-end product features spanning pricing engines, appointment scheduling, and payment flows
  • Draft lucid product requirement documents and compose SQL queries that support insight gathering, product judgment, and operational decisions
  • Take full accountability for quality assurance and the complete lifecycle delivery of features from concept to release
  • Collaborate intimately with clinicians and operations teams, including observing day-to-day workflows to design solutions grounded in reality rather than theory
  • Build integrations with essential healthcare infrastructure, including EHR systems, insurance networks, and lab vendors
  • Navigate open-ended, imperfectly defined challenges in an early-stage environment where adaptability matters as much as technical fluency

Who They Want

This position suits an engineer with both technical range and startup grit — someone who can move deftly between product intuition, implementation, and problem-solving under uncertainty.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 2+ years of experience working as a full-stack engineer
  • Genuine ease operating in ambiguous, early-stage startup environments (prior startup experience is essential)
  • Breadth across the stack, or strong frontend depth paired with the appetite to become a resourceful generalist
  • Solid command of at least one modern tech stack, alongside the curiosity and flexibility to pick up new tooling quickly
  • Clear, persuasive communication skills with the ability to explain technical choices, trade-offs, and reasoning without fog or jargon overload
  • An entrepreneurial bent — someone who has built projects independently and can think through product strategy, go-to-market direction, or early customer dynamics
  • Strong alignment with the mission of improving healthcare access and patient outcomes (previous healthcare exposure is welcome, though not mandatory)

Why This Role Stands Out

This is a rare chance to build consequential infrastructure where technology and healthcare converge. From day one, your work will carry tangible influence — not just on the product roadmap, but on how real people access care in moments that matter.
