Job Overview
This role is designed for an engineer who thrives on variety and velocity.
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will operate across multiple layers of the platform—building integrations for major publishers, enhancing dashboards, refining content pipelines, and experimenting with emerging capabilities within Apple News.
No two days mirror each other. One moment may involve engineering a live publishing feature for a global sports outlet; the next, dissecting a delivery anomaly during a breaking news cycle or prototyping an entirely new capability.
A defining aspect of this role is the expectation that AI-assisted development is not optional—it is embedded into the workflow. You will actively leverage modern AI coding tools to accelerate output, refine code quality, and streamline debugging processes.
What You’ll Own
- End-to-end feature development across Node.js backend systems and React-based dashboards
- Integration pipelines for high-profile publishing partners
- Experimental builds and proofs of concept for new Apple News capabilities
- Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with thoughtful handovers
- Embedding AI-assisted methodologies into development, review, and deployment cycles
Required Expertise
- Minimum of four (4) years of commercial software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and React, underpinned by deep JavaScript knowledge
- Active, practical use of AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalents)
- Solid command of HTML5, modern CSS, and DOM manipulation
- Experience working within AWS environments—deployment, configuration, and operational awareness
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and agile development practices
- Availability to consistently work US hours (PT time zone alignment)
Additional Advantage
- Background within publishing, media, or content-driven platforms
- Experience with content parsing tools such as Cheerio
- Familiarity with MongoDB
- Exposure to Apple News Format (training provided if absent)
